VAGUE DAYS - HOUSEPLANT

“Vague Days, described as sad, sleepy songs from St. Louis, recently released “Houseplant,” a fun, indie lo-fi homemade gift this holiday season for your audio pleasure. It’s a stocking full of nostalgic bass licks, tender guitar melodies, and what sounds like the candid vocals of a Strokes rehearsal recording from the early 2000s [see “I’ll Try Anything Once” 2006 demo.] This single is like listening to a polaroid photo of a plantlife fantasy romance in less than 3 minutes; a simple metaphor for a personal confession. He sweetly sings, “I wanna be a houseplant in your room / When we go out tonight I’ll put down my roots.” I love the home-production quality, especially the cute giggle interruption. I suggest slow dancing to this with a cutie in your bedroom to ring in the new year.”

LISTEN NOW.
