Noah Spencer ft. Addie Sartino - "Wednesday"
NOAH SPENCER - “WEDNESDAY”
I’ve never been skydiving, but I have listened to “Wednesday” by Noah J Spencer. Something tells me that it’s a comparable experience. At its very opening moment a snare drum blasts like a cannon and fires us straight into the clouds, with chiming clean guitars and a delightfully disorienting time signature. We’re not sure which way is up until Noah’s voice enters the picture, but the feeling is more blissful than confusing. The lyrics may not be as optimistic, but the smooth vocal delivery by Spencer and featured guest Addie Sartino frame them as a comforting reminder of the lessons we learned watching Pixar’s Inside Out - that sadness is an essential and beautiful piece of being alive. Thundering drums by Micah Ritchie give the song its epic scale in under three minutes, and crisp mastering by Mike Nolte of Eureka Mastering (Shy Boys, STRFKR) puts this track up in the clouds right where it belongs.
