Jordan Burchel’s latest single “Duck Yourself” lives somewhere perfectly between tenderness and playful pop. The singer/songwriter writes about self-understanding and coming to terms with life in a vibrant soundscape of upbeat acoustic guitar and swarming background hums. “If it were simple everybody would get it” - a line that perfectly describes the song itself. It’s simple and clean, yet poetic and complex. It’s warm and comfortable, but relatable in a piercing sort of way. This combination of dreamy melodies with inner monologue storytelling reveals the passion in the way Burchel writes. 

His stylings feel reminiscent of Destroyer, conversational but idyllic, and The War On Drugs, with sweeping synths and catchy melodies. “Duck Yourself” is a sweet thing between self-doubt and a dance party, and you’ll be humming it for days.
