Rachel Cion - "Violin"
RACHEL CION - “VIOLIN”
My favorite local sad girl recently surprised us with a new single release! “Volin'' is a slight change of pace from her previous releases, but left me tantalized and yearning for more. Is this a one-off single or a part of an upcoming EP/debut album??? Her lyricism shines through a melancholy yet dancy rhythm with a quicker pace than the rest of her music. This song seems to be about a person who tried to use someone and then abandoned them. Maybe it happened to Cion, maybe it happened to a friend. Whoever it was won’t stand for that. They know they deserve better and they’re not about to let that asshole get away with what they did. “I know better than to look your way” suggests lessons learned and notes taken to be able to move on and enjoy their life while avoiding those toxic people. Great work Rachel, love this single and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
