Kaylinn Clotfelter’s “My Life Is Great And It’s All My Fault” is the Springfield artist’s second single release of 2021. Right out of the gate, it’s an unpredictable ride that feels like the perfect screeching breakup song, until the lyrics sink in and the glowing optimism shines through. It’s a roller coaster for the right side of your brain, an explosion of joy and anger and optimism and confidence all at the same time. Clotfelter asks everyone to either join the party or get out of the house, CMLIGAIAMF!! 

The production is a swimming pool of punk, psych-rock, and indie that accompany Clotfelter’s songwriting harmoniously. It’s kinda like someone bottled up the spirit of 2000s alt, Riot Grrrl, and 21-year-old emotions and then smashed it on the ground. It’s an open invite to scream and cry and blast it as loud as you can, and why wouldn’t you?
