The Black Creatures - "Wretched (It Goes)"
THE BLACK CREATURES - “WRETCHED (IT GOES)””
“The first release from sci-fi hip hop/rap duo The Black Creatures’s upcoming album Wild Echoes, is impressively slick, lyrically profound, and political in the best way. “Wretched (It Goes),” written by Xavier Martin and Jade Green, produced by Xavier Martin, mastered by Collin Jordan, and released by Center Cut Records, is a clear critique of broken, prevalent systems of socioeconomic and cultural hierarchy, and a heavy outcry for abolition and liberation. Their 90s hip hop-inspired sound, combined with their forward thinking message of peace and justice, make this song my ultimate favorite of theirs to date. They sing, “If we shift our focus from revenge to damage prevention, will we be more strong?” and “We make dollars, but at what expense?” IT’S A BOP.
But don’t just take my word for it; you can listen to the single on Soundcloud and support the musicians on Bandcamp.”
