KAT KING
(KANSAS CITY)
Kat King's career started as far back as 2nd grade in small town Kansas. Accompanied by her acoustic guitar and piano in her early career, Kat tugged at the heartstrings of listeners with her clever and cryptic in-the-closet love ballads. As a solo singer-songwriter act, she produced one 13 song album and three EP's, the first one released at the age of 14. Now based in Kansas City, Kat King graduated into a 5-piece indie-pop rock group who just released their first EP together titled “Say What You Mean”.

“King developed songcraft through her teenage years, penning clever ballads about love — armed only with an acoustic guitar or piano. But after moving to Lawrence for college, King embraced critical parts of her identity, like her queerness, and opened up new avenues for creativity. It’s on luminous display in “Don’t Wanna Lose,” the singer-songwriter’s debut single with a full band.”

“It is unbelievably catchy; a sleek and sparkling ripper. Warmer days beg for a track this good.”
