SINGLE REVIEW :: Ings - "If Not You"
Ings - “If Not You”
Digitally self-released by Ings on September 23rd, 2019.
Apart of upcoming album “Lullaby Rock” out November 15th!
“Ings’ glittering new single “If Not You” is for those who have locked themselves in their rooms, curtains drawn, and need a sign. The track begins with a whimsical bass melody, setting the good-natured tone. String plucks soon appear and pantomime strong-willed water drops. Alongside the bright drum beat are her lovely atmospheric vocals. Radiant voices of sunshine spring into focus, yielding a rosey confidence to listeners. Reminiscing back on rays of sorrow, she builds into the heartening chorus.
Slowing down, she brings forth positivity, telling us to “laugh into the void, smile in the abyss, whistle in the dark.” She wants you to know that these little flecks of gold are what makes life soft. Arriving back to the chorus, we are greeted by a supportive, endearing guitar riff. A beacon of brightness, she reminds you to “show some kindness to yourself.”
Draw back the curtains. Open the window. Let the light in. If not You, then who?”
