SAM WELLS
(KANSAS CITY)
The delicate pairing of Sam Wells’ fiery voice and her baritone ukulele will steal your heart.
It is with open arms Kansas City has embraced her. Through the use of her looper pedal, she graduates the traditionally light and beachy instrument into a Jazz - Rock force with ease. Her ability to completely transform a song was recently documented on the YouTube channel Blind Covers. In it, she reconstructed “Bad as Me” by Tom Waits into a blues-rock tune you can’t help but move your body too. In contrast, her acoustic rendition of Colony House’s “Where I’m From” landed a feature on the bands instagram page. Furthermore, the versatility of Sam Wells’ artistry is best highlighted between her first two singles. Her debut single “Lesson Learned” has an heir of soft spoken intimacy, while her newest single “Sugar” is full of energy and funk. All of these releases lead up to the drop of her first EP, “For The Deflated”, that showcases soft and melancholic reflection suitable for a year like 2020, only to evolve into a playfully vibrant ensemble that celebrates and envelops the senses, inviting hope for the new year.
Through every song, Sam Wells will invite you on a journey of self discovery alongside her own.

“Her track, “Dear Black People” was a frank and honest track, superbly conveyed by Wells’ vocals.”
— Nick Spacek for The Pitch
“…a mature representation of her thoughts, allow us to interpret her views that drown us in intoxicating harmonies and melodious vocal runs. Placing a piece of herself on a silver platter, Sam Wells captures the imagery she portrays as her audience is submerged in everything she can offer musically. As we seamlessly drift away into the organized chaos that Sam Wells highlights, we must admit that she masks it extremely well as we follow her euphonious train of convictions through raw timbres and utter talent.”
